Not everything that glitters is good intel.
This post opens the OSINT Jungle by exploring the reality that not all OSINT tools are as reliable or useful as they first appear. Sometimes, tools amplify bias, provide misleading data, or tempt us to stop investigating too early.
For example, a reverse image search might give a handful of promising results — but what if those results all stem from the same original mislabeling? What if that juicy Whois record is using a privacy proxy or outdated info? We’ve all been there.
In this post, I’ll explore:
– When tools can lead you in the wrong direction
– Why context is everything
– How to build good habits around verification
Remember: tools are lenses, not truths. And in the jungle, it pays to watch your step.
